It is possible to be had, in deepest of the soul, a warm perhaps heart and, nevertheless, nobody goes never to take refuge in him.? These words reflect the sensitivity of an artist who gave everything it by his art. Better well-known like “the painter who cut the ear?, Vincent van Gogh is one of the coveted painters more world-wide. Ironic outcome for an artist whose unique admiring faithful was his own brother.

In the Dutch city of Amsterdam is the Museum Van Gogh, a unique place in the world where to enjoy the anxious brush of the great “Vincent?, as it signed his works. This it consists of two buildings: the main structure was designed by Gerrit Rietveld and abrió in 1973, and the Wing of Exhibition was work of Kisho completed Kurokawa and in 1999. Besides these two architects, many others have contributed in the conclusion, reconstruction and remodeling of both buildings. In his principles it exhibited exclusively works of the collection of the family Go Gogh reunited by Theo, brother of Vincent, merchant and collector of art, between which it included works of other painters of century XIX like Paul Gauguin, Camille Pissarro and Adolphe Monticelli. After her death, her widow Johanna Van Gogh-Bonger maintained great part of the collection in her property, but she was thanks to his son Vincent Willem van Gogh who the collection, meanwhile into the hands of the Foundation Vincent van Gogh, happened to expose itself in this museum.

The Museum Van Gogh allows to follow the evolution of its work and the one of other artists of century XIX. In addition, it counts on an ample supply of exhibitions on diverse subjects of the history of the art of century XIX. But from since the great star is the “crazy person of the red hair?, as they denominated his neighbors of Ar to them, because the unstable mental health of Vincent made a habitual visitor of hospitals. Their attacks of schizophrenia were so strong that sometimes it tried to swallow paintings, which did not prevent that it left for the posterity more than 800 pictures and 1,500 drawings in only nine years as painter.

Sunflowers go Gogh painting. Paul Gauguin. 1888.

The famous sunflowers are the subject of twelve fabrics with which Vincent decorated the study that shared with Gauguin. Its contact had begun in 1886 and between both a mutual respect arose, growing the admiration of Vincent towards Paul, but also the tensions. During one of its disputes, Vincent threatened to its friend a razor and this one, terrified, left to a hotel. Feeling took it to the fault to take the lobe of its right ear soon to give it to Paul like repentance signal.

The fort bow that always shared with its Theo brother has waked up curiosity and fascination. In 1890 Vincent it visited to him in Paris and when finding very worried it about the economic situation, it was oppressed for being one loads for its brother. Fearing a new attack, it left to the field and one went off with a revolver in the chest. Miraculously, it managed to return to his inn, where the doctors bandaged the wound to him but they did not extract the bullet. Two days later it passed away. Theo was to its side, that peculiarly, died six months later.

Landscapes, pictures, bodegones… Their treatment of the color, its technique in cells (mosaic type) and the organicidad of their line caused that the work of remarkable Vincent exerted one influence in other artistic currents like the expresionismo, the fauvismo and principles of the abstraccionismo. For that reason, in the last years, the Museum Van Gogh has become a versatile museum of century XIX, where works of different currents and styles are collected, like the realism, the impressionism and the symbolism, having exhibited in addition works to artists that the own Vincent admired, contemporaries more modern like Paul Gauguin and the Georges Seurat, but also more traditional painters like Ary Sheffer.
