The city of Rotterdam emphasizes by the great quality of its museums, that constitute the main attraction of this city of architecture modern and fluvial traffic.

Most interesting of all of them it is the Museum Boijmans-Go Beuningen, fruit of two private collections and dedicated to the painting and the sculpture from the average Age to the present time. Most interesting they are the room dedicated to the Bosco and Brueghel and the dedicated one to the Century of Dutch Gold, with some Rembrandt. Also it has works of Rubens, Lorrain, Delacroix and Goya. Of later centuries we found to Go Gogh, to Picasso, Cézanne, Kandinsky, Dalí, etc. As you see, art for all the pleasures.

Worthy of mention it is the Marine Museum of this harbor city, in that we will find an extensive explanation of the activity of the port of Rotterdam, history of the river navigation and the works related to her. The Nederlands Photomuseum is placed in old ships of concrete, crystal and steel, given back to the life thanks to this museum on the photography. The semi-permanent exhibition “Panorama Las Palmas? crosses average century and of photographies taken in a radius of a kilometer around the museum, thus allowing to know and to understand the transformations undergone in the district. Account in addition with temporary exhibitions and a zone to archives and library of free access.

Another very interesting museum is the Wereldmuseum Rotterdam, dedicated to ethnological collections of all parts of the world and to the relations of those civilizations with ours. Also you visit Historisch Museum located in elegant mansion of century XVII (one of the little buildings of time that remains still on in Rotterdam after the bombings of World War II), makes a review by history of the city and its inhabitants.

  • Museum Boijmans-Go Beuningen: Museumpark 18-20. Schedule from 11 to 17 h. Entrance 9 €, although is free Wednesdays and for minors of 18 years.
  • Marine museum: Leuvehaven 1. Schedule from 10 to 17 h. Entrance 5 €, with discounts for children.
  • Nederlands Photomuseum: Wilhelminakade 332. Schedule from 10 to 17 h, week ends from 11 to 17 h. Entrance 6 €, with discounts.
